About the Workshop

The Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), sponsored by the Ministry of Education and coordinated by IIT Kharagpur, aims to strengthen the research ecosystem of India’s Higher Educational Institutions by promoting academic and research collaborations between Indian Institutions and leading institutions from 28 selected countries to jointly address problems of national and / or international significance. The scheme facilitates productive academic cooperation in the areas such as joint research projects, exchange of faculty and students, and joint degree programs by supporting the following key components that can catalyse impactful research.

Sponsored under the Scheme for the Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), both the Institutions are jointly hosting the international workshop on ‘Advances in marine bio-discovery of drugs, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals’ with a focal theme of ‘Tools, devices and protocols for marine bio-discovery for human, veterinary and aquaculture healthcare’. The workshop aims to review the existing and emerging tools, devices and protocols for advancing marine biodiscovery and propose strategies for bridging the gaps in research, technology development and translation, towards accelerated discovery of drugs, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals for application in human, veterinary and aquatic animal health management, within the one health umbrella.
