Pre-Workshop Tutorial
Applications are invited from GAT-B 2025 qualified students for admission to M Tech. Marine Biotechnology programme sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and offered by Cochin University of Science and Technology at National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health, for the Academic Year 2025-2027.
Eligibility: Candidates with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (under
grading system) from any recognized university in B Tech or BE in Biotechnology/M Sc in any branch of Life Science including Marine Biology with qualifying GAT-B 2025 Score (Un Reserved (General) – 145, Economically Weaker Section (Gen- EWS): 103.5, OBC-NCL: 104.5, Scheduled Caste (SC): 80, Scheduled Tribe (ST): 60.5, Differently Abled (DA) – 62 under each category can apply for admission to the M.Tech. Marine Biotechnology programme.
The candidates can apply online through the website : www.ncaah.ac.in.
The reservation norms as per Government of India for DBT supported PG
teaching courses will be adopted for admission. The total intake for the programme is 20 (Seat allocation: General: 7; Gen-EWS:2, OBC NCL:5,; SC:3, ST: 2, DA:1).
The application is open from 09-06-2025 to 23-06-2025.
Application Fee
The selected candidates need to remit an application fee of Rs. 1500/- for
General/OBC/EWS/DA categories and Rs. 700/- for SC/ST candidates at the time of admission.
Studentship
The selected candidates are eligible for a studentship of Rs.12000 per month.

Dr. Megha Bedekar is a veterinary Microbiology and biotechnologist working in the area of veterinary and fish health for 20 years. Her research areas are application of advanced tools for development of vaccine and diagnostics for aquatic animals.
Prof. Rosamma Philip, former Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences, is a distinguished academic and researcher known for her significant contributions to aquaculture and marine biology. Dr. Parasuraman A. S., a Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Thünen Institute of Fisheries Ecology, Germany, is a skilled immunologist with over a decade of expertise in aquaculture and immunology research. Shri G. Rathinaraj, a retired Senior Executive (Technical) from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad, has made notable contributions to the development and promotion of aquaculture in India. With decades of experience, he has been instrumental in implementing innovative strategies to enhance aquaculture productivity, sustainability, and rural livelihoods.
Dr. S. Kandan, the Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA), is a visionary leader and an expert in aquaculture development. Under his guidance, RGCA has made significant strides in advancing sustainable aquaculture practices, focusing on promoting innovative technologies and enhancing the productivity of aquaculture systems in India.
Prof. P. Chellapandi, Professor and Head of the Department of Bioinformatics at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, is a distinguished academic with over 25 years of experience in research and teaching. Dr. V. V. R. Suresh, Principal Scientist and Head of the Mariculture Division at ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), is a distinguished scientist renowned for his significant contributions to aquaculture, particularly mariculture.
