Development of plant-derived formulations in the management of White spot syndrome virus (WSSV), Penaeus stylirostris penstyl densovirus I (PstDVI) / IHHNV, Penaeus monodon nudi virus (PmNV)/MBV and Vibrio in shrimp culture

Plants that are the sources of natural products occupy a unique position in their medicinal property. In the present context, phytochemicals are broadly elucidated to find their prime capabilities against multi-drug resistant pathogens that are adept in lowering drug resistance using their multi-targeted mechanisms. Among them, some of the terrestrial and marine plants like mangroves, owing to the presence of phytochemical constituents in abundance, occupy the sizable portion of the marine cum terrestrial ecosystem that is still not explored. This research initiates to use such plants against aquaculture pathogens particularly WSSV, IHHNV, MBV, and Vibrios.
