Dr. Santhini Pulikkal Veettil received her B Sc (2006-2009) and M Sc (2009-2011) degree from Kannur University, kannur. She obtained her PhD degree in Chemical Sciences from Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), New Delhi and worked under the combined guidance of Dr. K V Radhakrishnan and Dr. R LuxmiVarma, Organic Chemistry Section, CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram (April 2018). Soon after she was awarded the PDM Postdoctoral Fellowship-2018 to work with Prof. Wim Dehaen, Dept. of Chemistry, KU Leuven (University of Leuven), Belgium (2018-2021). In October 2021, she returned to India and joined as a Senior project associate with Dr. Sajeevan T. P , National Centre for Aquatic animal Health, CUSAT to work in a Department of Biotechnology sponsored research project entitled “Bio prospecting of Marine microbial diversity for various products under the Marine Bio resource and Biotechnology Network Programme” and after that, she was awarded National Postdoctoral Fellowship by DST-SERB to continue her research work with Dr. N Manoj, Dept. of Applied chemistry, CUSAT (February 2022-August 2022). Later, she was awarded the prestigious Ramalingaswami re-entry fellowship by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India and in Sept 2022, she joined as DBT-Ramalingaswami faculty fellow to start her independent career at National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health, Cochin University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on1) isolation, characterization and total synthesis ofmarine natural products, especially isolated from unique marine environments for biomedical applications 2) medicinal and heterocyclic chemistry 3) Green and Sustainable organic synthesis.
